ESTI provides Green File as a complete imaging and electronic filing solution. The complete system includes the software, hardware, network design, and installation support to enable fast and efficient image and document storage and retrieval.

Document imaging is a relatively new technology in which we have already developed a great deal of expertise. We developed the Green File imaging and filing system to provide high performance document, file retrieval, and storage. A single database houses both document images and other file formats including Word®, WordPerfect®, Excel®, Outlook® and PDF files stored in their original format for easy access.

All compression and decompression processes are performed at the local workstation. This positioning significantly reduces the demand on server resources and dramatically enhances the performance of network transfers, database storage and image retrieval. Green Filing objects directly from the source application can be accomplished using Macro languages available directly within the application.

Green File complies with the standards for legal admissibility of electronic images outlined in the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) document "Microfilm and Electronic Images as Documentary Evidence". All electronic images are stored using TIFF compression (Huffman Compressed). This compression method, recommended in the CGSB document, is a highly proven and efficient method for electronic image storage.

User security is always a concern and is provided through the Oracle RDBMS. Oracle can implement security at all levels of the database, even at the lowest possible level, an item within a record. Green File utilizes Oracle Roles to implement a security scheme that allows for administrative, normal user, restricted (i.e. "view only"), and reporting activities.

The system is a Java based application allowing for a function rich, portable solution. Thumbnail viewing options and advanced indexing and retrieval options are part of Green File's standard offerings. A bulk scan holding tank, bar-coding, high performance scanning, image enhancement and OCR text storage are all part of the function-rich suite offered within Green File. It provides everything you need to re-claim floor space, reduce lost documents and bring back confidence in your office filing system.
